Club partnership announcement

Halesowen Town Colts and Lye Town FC are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership that will strengthen youth football across the local area and, most importantly, create a meaningful pathway for young players to progress and develop.

There is already a strong connection and plenty of history between the two clubs. Members of the Lye Town committee have either played for the club themselves, run teams over the years, or have children who have represented Halesowen Town Colts. Equally, members of the Halesowen Town Colts committee and managers have either played for Lye Town FC or have children that have played for Lye Town FC, highlighting the genuine relationship and shared passion for football that exists between both clubs.

This partnership is therefore a natural progression of a relationship that has been built over many years.

Both clubs are committed to working together to create a significant and sustainable pathway for youth players – one that provides opportunities for young people to develop their football, build confidence, enjoy the game and, where appropriate, progress through the different levels of the game and onto first team football.

Crucially, this isn’t about simply putting a pathway on paper. We want to create a pathway that genuinely happens. By working together, sharing knowledge, supporting coaches and creating opportunities for players, we want young people to see a clear route for their footballing journey within the local community.

We recognise that every player’s journey is different, and our aim is to provide the right environment and opportunities for players to fulfil their potential, whether that means continuing grassroots football, progressing into more competitive football or ultimately representing senior teams.

Both clubs are incredibly excited about what this partnership can achieve and the opportunities it will create for young players, families and the wider football community.

Together, Halesowen Town Colts and Lye Town FC are committed to developing players, supporting people and building a youth football pathway that delivers for the future.

This is just the beginning – and we are excited for what comes next!

From parents and coaches

Just to mention that yesterday was my last game coaching HTC East. Craig will continue with the team and is bringing in other parents to support.

Thanks for all of your help. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done in starting the team from Minis with the two Craig’s.

I really respect the hard work that you and the committee put in. So many children get to benefit and enjoy sport as a result.

Hope you have a brilliant week and will see you soon I’m sure. #HTC

Awarded as a Certified Carbon Literate club

Halesowen Town Colts FC are delighted to be a part of the grassroots sport and sustainability initiative Save Today, Play Tomorrow, set up by Birmingham FA.

As a club, we have pledged to commit to making better choices, such as reducing plastic usage, disposing of litter, and how we travel to football.

Our starting pledge is to recycle football boots within the club, especially in the younger age groups, and as new players join.

We also intend to ask for donations of training and matchday football kits, passing them down to the younger teams.

This will help to cut down on mass production and on carbon emissions for transporting the goods. We will be using Football Rebooted, which is a programme designed by Birmingham FA, providing football boot boxes for donations, at home games.
